Changes yearly, May or June (2008: 22, 25, 29 of May) Celebrated by dance competitions of typical dances, between the various communities and neighbourhoods from Celendín and around, mainly by men. And around the dancers runs around a funny bull chasing an old woman, played by men as well. The typical dances are dedicated to saints. For example the Guayabina, for Saint Franciscus of Assisi, the Llanguatina (Saint Sebastian), the Poyuntina (Virgen de la Candelaria), the Pallas de Pallac (Virgen del Rosario), the Meendina (Saint John), the dance of Chuclalás (Saint Francisco Solano), the dance of Pilco (Saint Joseph), the dance of Llaguán (Saint Peter), the dance of Pumarume (Child God), the dance of San Cayetano (Saint Cayetano), the dance of Calapecho (Saint Cruz), the Maalcatina (Saint Anthony), the Cashaconga (Virgen de las Mercedes.) The first day the different groups of dancers arrive in the centre, dancing through the streets, and carry with them a statue of their saint, who they will place in the church. The second day, Sunday, they go out to dance in the streets again in the company of their saints, and also the main competition takes place. The last day, again dancing in the streets, and they will pick up their saints from the church and take them back with them.
