Celebration of the Virgen del Carmen, the patrona of Celendín. The main days of the Virgen are the 16th and the 29th. These are the days that they carry the statue of the Virgen del Carmen through the streets in a procession.
The days before the 16th in the evening they start burning castillos (big and beautiful constructions of firework), this continues almost every night until the biggest one the 28th.
Masses, processions, parties (dances), parades and concerts. The five days after the 29th of July the famous bullfights. Almost a month of Shilico partying!
