September 29th
Celendín's "birthday"! Fireworks again, the famous castillos, at the main square. And a lot of music and partying.
Procession of the Christo Morado- Celendín
October 18th
A nice procession with candlelights everywhere, and a lot of people dressed in purple (morado).
December 24 & 25th
The main square is beautifully decorated, with Christmas-cribs, lights and decorated plants and trees in all kinds of colours.
Children get together to dance and sing dressed in typical cloths.
December 31th
Still following the tradition of making a man/puppet out of old cloths and straw, with wishes to fullfill and and bad memories to burn. At the end of the day they are put in the streets and around midnight they are all burned.
Another tradition, more when gathered with family or friends, is the eating of 12 grapes and before every grape you eat you have to make a wish for the next year.
