The South of Peru is a lot more famous than the North. In our opinion, the only reason for that is a lack of publicity, because the North offers at least as much as the South!

One big adventage is that it is still off the beaten track and there for not ruined by tourists.

It is posible to visit markets or ruins without seeing any other tourist. The people wear their characteristic dresses because that's their way of living, and not to earn money modelling for pictures.

The North offers so much that it is impossible to show everything here. Little by little we want to improve this homepage by putting in more links to informative sites, but to give you a small impression we want to show you some pictures.

Kuélap - Kiocta - Pueblo de los muertos - Karajia - Cajamarca - Chan Chan - Huacas del Sol y de la Luna

Kuélap

You will find the Kuélap fortress between Celendín and Chachapoyas. From Celendín, you pass by Leymebamba where the beautiful museum is worth a visit, and continue until Tingo. From Tingo you can go walking (uphill, 1000 m altitud difference, in about 4 hours, depends on the fitness of every person) or by taxi to María, to walk from there.
