History
In april 2006 we opened in Celendín a Bed & Breakfast with a café. A new place to sleep, eat, drink, or just read something and listen to the music: Naranja Mecánica / Orange. Since 2007 we offer other services as well. For those who want to stay longer in Celendín than just a couple of nights, we can arrange a familystay. A room to sleep, three meals a day and plenty of time to practice your spanish. We can also arrange volunteerwork for you and/or spanish lessons. At a small scale we rent bycicles. In 2008 we started to get the feeling that we needed more rooms and that we would love to offer private bathrooms as well. At the end of 2008 our contract ended, so we decided to close the old house and start at a new place.
We are now temporarily open with just one room that we rent from time to time in our own house in Jr. Unión 333. What we do offer like normal is volunteerwork, spanish and familystays. We can also arrange private transportation for you or a tour to one of the touristic sites. If you have questions considering tourism, please contact us, or drop by.
Since a while we had been thinking about changing our name. We wanted to choose one of the two names as the official one, but we couldn't decide. We started with "Naranja Mecánica", because of the Dutch national footballteam, that has become famous with that nick-name in South America. We found out however that the spanish translation of the title of the book/film "A Clockwork Orange" is also Naranja Mecanica. Several clients thought that that was the reason for the name. We don't like to give clients the idea that our Bed & Breakfast has something to do with that film, so we decided to continue with the name "Orange".

In october 2009 we finally started to built our own place. We hope to open there in the first part of 2010 with some rooms. If you want to see photos of the construction, please click here.
