Helping out handicapped children

In Celendín there's a small school for handicapped children. The teachers don't have experience nor time to educate the children well.

They teach children and sometimes also adults with various kinds of handicaps: deaf, blind, Down's Syndrome etc.

There is not enough knowledge and the material to teach is very basic, but they try to keep the children busy and teach them some basic skills.

They can use volunteers to give one or more of the children special attention for a while.

The classes take place from Monday till Fridaymorning. During the vacations, half of December until beginning of March and end of July/beginning August, there are no classes

We are also trying to provide help at normal schools where handicapped children are accepted. Sometimes they are really positive accepting them, but they don't have enough time or knowledge either.
