Close to Celendín, after descending lots of curves, about 800 m, we reach the small village of Llanguat, the beginning of a beautiful valley where the climate is a lot warmer than in Celendín. Close to the river are hottubs (basic ones) with medicinal water that comes out of the earth close to the river (at the other side). The water is really warm, and (the mud even more than the water) very healthy. When the water in the river is low enough (dry season, from june to october more or less), you can cross the river to walk to the other side where you can see where the water comes out of the earth and where you find the really black mud, to put on your body and let it dry. Be carefull, if it dries too much time it's even difficult to take off!
After taking a bath, in the central big tub, or in a private one, it's a good idea to stay a little bit longer and enjoy the most delicious 'yuca' of Perú. In one of the small buses or in taxi it takes about 45 minutes. Walking can be another option, but if you start in Celendín it will take you about 4 hours...
