Waterfalls of Sarauz
Sarauz is a small community close to Celendín, more or less an hour and a half by car (depends on the weather circumstances).
You get there by first following the road down to Llanguat into the valley, on the crossroad keeping on the left side. When you reach the bridge across the river you will first find the small waterfall on your left side, following the arm of the river.
To find the bigger and much more spectaculair waterfall, you have to climb the road up to the houses of Sarauz. At one point you should leave the road and follow the waterchannel.
A part of the route is the bridge of metal tons. The locals use it all the time, but it's not without risk to cross. There's another way around, but it isn't always in good condition. It's not a good idea to do this trip on your own, besides that it could be a little dangerous, it's quite hard to find the way.
It can also be an option to visit Sarauz by bycicle. First you will experience the adventurous road down towards Llanguat (more or less 800 m with strong curves), then it continues more or less flat before the final steep part up to the community.
